Yacht and boat painting and refinishing in Georgia.

A hull tells you everything about the people who painted it.

  • Full containment.

A sealed, filtered tent goes up first. No dust, no insects and no change in the weather ends up frozen into the coat.

  • Electrostatic and conventional.

We spray with electrostatic and conventional guns, and choose the right one for each surface and each coating.

  • Lines set by hand.

Boot top and cove stripes laid out, taped and checked from the dock before a drop of paint goes on.

  • Based in Georgia.

Working the yards and marinas of the Georgia coast, with the boat staying where she is lying.

Every hull we paint

Superyachts set the standard.
Every boat gets it.

The same containment, the same prep and the same topcoat, whether she is sixty metres long or runs offshore on three outboards.

  1. White sportfish boat with flybridge, fishing tower and a gold waterline stripe

    01

    Sportfish

Flybridge, tower and cockpit. Hulls that take a beating offshore, faired and brought back to a straight reflection.

  2. White center console boat with hard top, triple outboards and a gold waterline stripe

    02

    Center consoles

Hull, console and hard top. Sun and salt taken out of the gelcoat, and the finish put back to showroom gloss.

  3. White sailing yacht with mast and a gold waterline stripe

    03

    Sailing yachts

Topsides, deck and spars. Long, fine sheer lines that show every ripple, painted so they show none.

  4. White express cruiser with a gold waterline stripe

    04

    Express cruisers

Weekend boats and day boats, finished to the same standard as the yachts they share the marina with.

New construction

New hulls and superstructures faired with Awlfair, so the finish holds a straight reflection from day one.

  • Fairing new hulls with Awlfair

On site

The tent goes up before the first coat goes on.

Scaffolding, containment and extraction, built around the boat. These are our crews, on real refits.

Crew sanding a white hull inside a containment tent
Scaffold walkway along a masked hull under containment
Superyacht deck masked from above, seen through the scaffold
Masked radar domes and deck on a superyacht refit
Hull curve masked with fine line tape inside the containment tent
Radar dome wrapped and taped before painting
Painters working along the hull side between coats

Five stages.
None skipped.

  1. 01

    Containment

Scaffold, sheeting and extraction. The boat is sealed off from the yard before anything else happens.

  2. 02

    Fairing

The surface is made flat, not just smooth. This decides whether the finish holds a straight reflection.

  3. 03

    Primer

Primer applied, then flatted back by hand until the guide coat is gone.

  4. 04

    Masking

Lines set out and taped. Glass, hardware and non-skid protected.

  5. 05

    Topcoat

Sprayed in controlled conditions and checked under raking light before the tent comes down.

Questions

Before you ask.

Do you work where the boat is, or does she need to move?

We work in the yards and marinas of the Georgia coast, and most refinishing and spot repairs can be done where the boat is lying.

How long does a repaint take?

It depends on length, condition and scope. A spot repair takes far less than a full repaint, which is planned like a refit. You get a schedule with the quote, once we have seen photos.

Why paint under containment?

A sealed, filtered tent keeps dust, insects and weather out of the wet coat, and keeps overspray and sanding dust out of the marina.

Which paints do you work with?

We work with Awlgrip, Awlcraft, Alexseal, Axalta and gelcoat, among others, applied with electrostatic and conventional spray guns. The system is chosen for each boat.

Do you work on new builds?

Yes. We fair new hulls and superstructures with Awlfair, leaving a flat surface ready for primer and topcoat.

Can you repair damage without repainting the whole hull?

Yes. Dock rash, crane marks and tender damage are repaired and blended into the existing finish.

What do you need to give me a quote?

The type of boat, its length, what needs doing and where it is kept. Photos of the problem areas help more than anything else. Send them through the form below or on WhatsApp.
